This is the blog of Anthony Ragan, a sometime-freelance writer in his early 60s trying to do the near-impossible: get a successful career as a TV drama writer. No, I haven’t been drinking… yet. I’m blessed with an excellent writing partner, and together we’ve written some darned good spec scripts for shows such as The Closer, Supernatural, Cold Case, and Stargate: Atlantis. As for this blog, it’s as the title suggests: a place for me to relax and share things that amuse or otherwise interest me. Humorous, weird, neat, whatever. What you’ll rarely find is politics. This just isn’t the place for that. Oh, and “Barliman” is of course stolen shamelessly from Lord of the Rings, my all-time favorite series of books. I just happen to like the old tradition of using pseudonyms and, when I retire, I want to move to Bree and buy The Prancing Pony. 😉
