Oh, well. I tried. Really. I made it through eight books and well into a ninth before breaking my pledge to read ten books before buying another. But, last night I couldn’t hold out any longer: I ordered not one, but two books:
- Ian Plimer’s Heaven and Earth: Global Warming, the Missing Science. I’m a deep skeptic regarding the theory of anthropogenic global warming, and Dr. Plimer’s book has been receiving quite a bit of praise for the extensive science he uses to substantiate his criticisms of AGW. I’m looking forward to this.
- Michelle Malkin’s Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies. I’m not Ms. Malkin’s biggest fan by any means, but she’s very dogged when it comes to investigative reporting (as in her research into former Washington Governor and current Commerce Secretary Gary Locke’s foreign campaign contributions). If this book is on that level, it should be fascinating reading. In spite of the lurid dust-jacket copy.
I should really ask the neighbors to move out, so I could turn their apartment into my library. It’s only fair….
